Nominate an Individual for Induction into The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame!
Deadline: Last Monday in June of each year

The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame laureates must be Canadian citizens, or a major part of the achievement for which they are being nominated must have been developed during a period of residence in Canada. They are living and posthumous, whose outstanding contributions to medicine and the health sciences have led to extraordinary improvements in human health.

Their work may be a single meritorious contribution or a lifetime of superior accomplishments. Pioneers in their field, they are considered role models who inspire young Canadians to pursue careers in the health sciences.

Laureates may be recognized for their work in one or more of the following categories. Nominators are asked to indicate on the nomination form which of the categories most applies to their candidate.

The categories are:

  1. Builder - Innovative leadership in health education, health research and/or the creation of an institution or program that has endured to the benefit of human health
  2. Excellence in Health Care - Innovative leadership in health care exemplifying professionalism and services to humankind
  3. Excellence in Health Research
    • Basic Research
    • Clinical Research
    • Health Services
    • Population and Public Health
