Participants will hear an inspiring keynote lecture, take part in interactive workshops and join in discussion with a panel of health care professionals and academics.
INFORMATION FOR ACADEMICS AND PROFESSIONALS OF ALL LEVELS AND FIELDS OF INTEREST...
Share your passion for learning and your work by presenting an interactive morning and/or afternoon workshop and/or joining a career panel discussion which concludes this exciting day. Click on the appropriate WEBFORM link below to sign up, or download and complete the applicable form.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Thursday, March 15
Workshops received on or before the deadline will be included in our 2012 Workshop Catalogue to be distributed to area high schools during the last week of March. Workshops received after the deadline will be added to our online catalogue.
A link to last year's workshop catalogue can be found below if you are looking for presentation ideas. Through the years of recording student feedback we have also compiled a list of suggestions for workshop presenters.
INFORMATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS...
This event is open to any high school student as well as interested teachers and/or guidance counsellors. To aid communications to such a wide audience, we ask that students register through their high school.
Beginning March 26, registration information will be emailed and faxed to area high schools. Before interested students can register, a contact teacher must first register the school via the appropriate WEBFORM link below. Once our system has advised of your school's registration an email to the contact teacher will follow, from the Discovery Day coordinator at The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, with further details for students to register online. Students are still required to submit a completed Consent and Waiver of Liability Form to complete their registration. This form is available for download below.
Teachers and/or guidance counsellors are invited, but not required, to attend as well. Because they are assigned to workshops over and above the student capacity set by the workshop presenters, we ask that this group of participants continue to register manually using the Teacher Registration Form so that we can manage this detail more effectively. This form is also available for download below.
If you are an interested student but can't find a teacher to act as a contact for your school, or if you just want to be sure your school is on our distribution list, please call The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame: 519-488-2003.
STUDENT REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, April 18th @ 4:30 p.m. (first round) / Wednesday, April 25th (second round)
Because of limited workshop space and the broad scope of our promotion, registration will be limited to four students per school until the registration deadline noted above. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. on that date, all remaining workshop spaces will be released to anyone else wishing to attend. Online registration will close at end of day on April 25 or when all workshop spaces have been allotted, whichever occurs first.
